Rachael Kjelden grew up in a small town in South Dakota, and got her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. After graduating, she spent several years as an RN in Fargo, ND and Palo Alto, CA. She received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND and has been in Colorado ever since, specializing in primary care and addiction medicine. Rachael has been drawn to healthcare because of the opportunity to advocate for patients at all stages of care, and to develop lasting relationships with patients and their families. She believes great care starts with making sure the patient is heard. Her philosophy is to provide outstanding patient-centered care through genuine connection, patient education, safety, and good humor. 

When not at work, Rachael enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with her family.
